I co-edit the Journal of Corpora and Discourse Studies. I organise Corpus Approaches to Lexicogrammar (LxGr), a symposium held annually at Edge Hill University. My research focuses on three interconnected areas: corpus linguistics methodology, theoretical and pedagogical lexicogrammar, and discourse studies. I came to linguistics via English language teaching (1984-1993) and language teacher education (1992-2001). I joined Edge Hill University in September 2012 previously, I worked as associate lecturer and researcher at Lancaster University and Liverpool University. I have been working in corpus linguistics since 2001.
